Hello Splinterlands warriors and welcome back to my blog!
Our guild has just finished brawl. We had a decent brawl result this week ending in sixth place. Last week we were in fifth place and this week's finish is not bad at sixth but could still use some improvements. In today’s post, I’ll break down our overall results, highlight my personal performance, and showcase one of my favorite battles.
We finished lower compared to last week's fifth place. While not necessarily a bad result, much could be improved upon if we want to finish in higher rank.
I'm happy with my performance in this brawl. I won seven battles and only lost one. I'm in a fray where I can consistently score good results. Each of us who joined the brawl earned 4.4k merits and 50 SPS. It's a huge chunk of my weekly SPS earnings so I make it a point to join brawls.
The battle was a come from behind victory. The enemy defeated my gladiator early in the rounds and I was ready to throw in the towel and call it a day. However, the ruleset included Bloodmoon which meant all units have the Bloodlust ability. I had high damage units that took advantage of this rule. The increase in stats served them well and was able to rally and took the victory. My team was led by Kaylia Silverleaf archon and was composed of the following units.
The ruleset included Anemic so I needed a tank with high armor stats to compensate for his lack of health. Doomshield Warden fits the role having seven armor. However, he doesn't have any defensive abilities.
Forlorn Geomant deals a huge five magic damage. That reason alone makes him a valuable member of my team and has a spot when the mana allows it. His disadvantage is his huge mana cost making him inefficient to use in low mana battles. He fully took advantage of the Bloodmoon ruleset because he defeats enemies in one hit with his high attack. His stats increased as the battle went on.
Blackmoor Wilde Elf deals two magic damage and has low mana. She gains the Execute ability from the archon which is important because it will trigger everytime she attacks because the enemy health has already been reduced to four.
Fina Voxom is a feared damage dealer. She has four attack and four speed. What makes her deadly is her combination of Opportunity and Bloodlust abilities. She hunts down the enemy's low health units and will likely defeat them triggering her bloodlust. Unfortunately, she was defeated early by the enemy and I thought that my team was going to lose the battle.
Ujurak Elder is a low mana support unit. Her role is important because she adds one health to the team. This one health could be a huge advantage because of the Anemic ruleset that limit the health to only four.
Blackmoor Jinx is a one mana unit that served as a filler. It added one rear unit who can take attacks from Sneak or Opportunity attackers.
The enemy also had the Earth splinter and Fina as his gladiator . He defeated my Fina early in the second round but Forlorn Geomant took the damage dealer role and with Bloodmoon was better than any gladiator cards out there in terms of damage.
