A short preview for today's article is that we are going to examine some thoughts I have about the cards I bought on the first day of the year! The goal is to rank up and make the most wins in the Weekend event! Enough with the talk already let's jump right into the action!
The new year didn't go too well for me in GU, I played some games with the Aggro deck and I found some difficulties. So I decided to purchase some cards with a lot of value and try to transform my deck in a more midrange way! The first card I bought is Overgrown Rhino, a perfect card for tempo with very pleasant stats, with just 4 mana we get the awesome 5 damage and 5 life. The only downside is the Confused ability but that's not a problem at all! The second card I bought was Giant Pangolin and I completed the set because I already had one. The third was Brazen Moose, a card with huge value too. You can easily see the value from mana and stats and the downside again is the Confused ability but here we have Blessed too! The fourth pick was Canopy Barrage, that spell has punished me a lot of times in ranked so I decided to gain a copy for myself! The last card is Guild Enforcer, this is a neutral card that I am going to use invariant decks. This Frontline tank with the Armor 1 is a must-have card I think!
REWARDS FROM WEEKEND EVENT
So the weekend event is over and I think the cards I bought brought a tremendous upgrade to my previous deck! Overall I am very happy with the results because I had a bad start at the beginning of the event and I managed with just 8 cards to snowball! In fact, at the beginning of the event, I had 5 straight losses and immediately I started looking to find the reason for the stuck! I realized that the main problem was that my deck was very strong at the early stages of the battle but it was weak in the mid and late game.
I finished with 16 wins in 25 games, pretty good if we consider the very bad start. The actual win rate of the updated deck is 72.7%!
DECK PRESENTATION
Let's start from the beginning, I personally think that the best hero power for this deck is Flourish because you need to value trade a lot in order to win the board! The main strategy is to control the board at any cost. At the start, you should mulliganing for one and two cost minions and from the spells definitely, you are looking for Best Friends! Also, I recommend that you have 2 copies of Giant Pangolin (I have too but I think it's bugged and I can't find it in my collection sad face ). Other than that you can replace several minions with better ones, it's a very cheap deck I think that does the work done and that's what we are looking for! I will continue to make adjustments over time and I will keep you informed!
