At the beginning of winter, when the river was not yet covered with ice, we went to the central city beach to admire a flock of ducks wintering there. It turned out that not only we were interested in them, but also the red dog that I saw there for the first time.
Maybe this dog was hoping to catch some of the ducks, but they were well aware of such a threat and swam away from the shore when the dog approached. She didn't look hungry and after watching her behavior, I thought it was more like a game that the ducks were supporting.
Upon closer acquaintance, we realized that the dog is kind, well-mannered and should not be afraid of it. She even clearly followed the commands and this indicated that she had recently become homeless. The fact that the dog has no owners, said the tag on his ear. But this tag informed us that the dog was vaccinated. Our veterinarians deal with stray animals on a par with pets and vaccinate them against dangerous diseases.
After playing with the ducks, the dog took me for a walk along the shore, where I photographed many more interesting things, but not related to the topic of the community.
Then we said goodbye to the dog, and other people came to replace us. And it was noticeable that they have known this dog for a long time and see each other often. Reassured by this fact, we went home.
We don't have our own dog, so I was glad to have a chance meeting with a homeless, but very nice dog, about which only positive memories remained. Once we had a similar red dog: an Eastern European husky. She also had a very kind character and this dog reminded me of her.
