The capital of the island of La Palma, 15 thousand inhabitants, cruise port. Most of the town is located on a hillside, which can be reached by elevator. One and a half pedestrian streets with "colonial buildings" and an embankment stretched along the ocean coast. The symbols of the city are wooden balconies and figurines of dwarfs, similar either to Napoleon or the Nutcracker, only with numbers (from 1 to 24) on cocked hats. At the festival, which is celebrated once every 5 years, 24 men in dwarf costumes dance to the sounds of polka. There is a copy of Columbus's ship, two fortresses, several museums and two black beaches. In the middle of the central beach, a figure of a blue whale sticks out of the sand. There are almost no tourists. 7 km from the airport. Very cozy.
