The rain has come again and from 4am this morning, it has not stopped.
The good thing is that there is no wind with it - just really nice steady rain that the garden is soaking up.
However, although we welcome the rain as it keeps our dams full, there is a side to the rain that is not so good.
Many areas have been flooded and homes of some have been badly flooded and the residents have had to take shelter in community halls.
The roads in many areas are flooded and this can cause accidents - apparently there have been 25 accidents already reported this morning.
These accidents are often caused by speeding - something that I can never get my head around - I mean, visibility is bad, roads are slippy or flooded - why would you want to speed!
Power is also out in many areas and disaster management are being kept very busy.
This rain is unusual for the Cape at this time of year as we are a winter rainfall area - and up north where they have summer rains, they are having terrific heat and water restrictions have been implemented as no rain has come - the weather is upside down!
