In the image below is my Prunus shrub standing completely bare.
This shrub is one that I always watch closely as it shows me if spring is getting closer.
First, I will see a single blossom appear on one of the branches - it is almost as if it comes out to test the elements so that more blossoms can follow suit.
After a while, more flowers will appear and then I know that spring is really coming soon.
Then one day I will look out and see the entire shrub covered in blossoms and standing there in all its glory!
It is a real show stopper at this stage and I enjoy every minute of this stage as it passes very quickly and then the petals start to fall like confetti on the ground and then the deep mauve leaves appear.
