Most people love roses and yet so many won't buy them as they feel they are too difficult to grow.
Actually, roses are easy to grow - give them the right soil, fertilizer and water and they will grow happily.
However, for those people that are still nervous about growing roses, I would suggest the wonderful Ice Berg roses.
These floribunda roses can handle wind and will even grow in soils that are less than perfect.
The images below are growing in my son's garden and have not had any special attention as he does not have the time.
When it comes to pruning, these roses can be left alone while the bushes are still small and once established, just remove any straggly branches, dead wood and shape the bush if you feel it is necessary.
Feed with a good organic rose fertilizer and keep the ground well mulched and water deeply during the growing season.
Ice Berg roses flower throughout the year and look really stunning when planted in groups.
