The beautiful Confetti Bush which grows here in the Western Cape is such a rewarding shrub to have in the garden.
It bursts into flower at the end of winter and throughout spring.
I have both the white and pink variety in the garden and apart from the fact that they are beautiful when flowering, they also make a great addition to other cut flowers for the vase - the leaves are thin and slightly spiky but have a nice delicate look which blends in with any flower arrangement.
Plant in a sunny spot in well drained soil - they will grow in partial shade too.
The one thing to remember , is not to feed with chemical fertilizers - just use a good compost and keep mulched.
When not in flower, the plants are evergreen and they grow to about one and a half meters in height.
The name Confetti Bush is perfect as the flowers are small and look like confetti sprinkled on the bushes.
