Due to the fact that I hold art classes every day of the week except for thursdays, I often get behind in my own painting.

I have found that if I have not painted for a while, it is often harder to get back into the swing of things.
However, the things that motivate me are new blank canvasses and just having them here reminds me that I need to get those creative juices going and choose a subject to paint.

I have never been a person that just paints anything - it has to be something that really excites me and so it can take a while for me to decide what I must paint.

At present, I have three blank canvasses waiting and a few ideas floating around in my head - they are standing where I can see them throughout the day - just as a reminder to get going!

However, even before I begin, I need to go through all of my oil paints and brushes - cleaning and throwing out.
When I am busy on a painting, I have to admit to being lazy about cleaning the paint tubes which can get messy and clogged up - one should do this after each painting session, but, well ...

Anyway, I shall do it and I know that it will feel great once completed - and who knows, I might get a flash of inspiration while I am doing it.
