Today is Fathers Day and when I look at the fine men my sons have become, I feel proud - they are all fathers now - how time flies.
Sadly, my father passed away many years ago and I do not think that there was such a thing as fathers day back then so I gave him a message from my heart today.

For some reason, my thoughts today have been filled with nostalgia - thinking of the beautiful people that have crossed my life's path - many are no longer with us, but that is normal with the passing of time.

As winter rolls in and the days get very cold I am reminded of our last winter and how the weather was then in June.
I have mentioned before, that I am not a winter person - preferring spring and summer.
However, this morning as I looked out of my window, I saw my grey heron and it gave me such pleasure - he or she, arrives on a small vacant piece of land opposite where I stay every year without fail.
The heron is always alone and I have no idea why it comes here, but the fact that it does gives me pleasure just to watch it for the few days visit knowing that I shall have to wait another year before it will return.
