Banksia roses are my favourites - they are thornless, which is wonderful and are very hardy.

I have the yellow one and the white one.
These roses are supposed to be spring flowering, but I have noticed that they start to send out blooms in winter and then carry on through spring.
The first blooms have just started on my yellow one - lovely little clusters of small roses - once the rose is in full bloom, it is so beautiful to see with each branch full of flowers that cascade downwards.

If my memory serves me correctly, these roses are also known as the "china roses" and their history goes back over a thousand years so that makes them very special.
The name Banksia comes from Joseph Banks of Kew Gardens - who I believe brought these roses from China.

Here in the Cape, they have remained a favourite and can be seen cascading over many garden walls.
