Today is one of those still. overcast days with the sunshine peeping through every so often - just lovely weather to be out and about.
I got up reasonably early this morning and after doing some chores I set out to do a bit of shopping - not the general type of shopping, today was to get some new canvasses to paint on and a few other art supplies.
Call me crazy, but I get excited when I can buy art stuff and then I bring home the new canvasses and stare at them thinking of what I am going to paint - it is all part of the journey.
On my way back, I stopped off at a small local nursery to buy some extra potting soil, compost and a few seedlings - another thing that gets me excited - gardening and art are my two passions, so I arrived back at my place feeling very happy.
As I was approaching up the stairs to my balcony, my eyes caught a flash of white on the trellis which stopped me in my tracks.
The flash of white was the first of my peas coming into flower - I felt like doing a happy dance!
This is the first time that I have planted peas so I am thrilled that they are rewarding me with flowers - and hopefully some peas soon.
It was such a lovely surprise - now I must watch out that the two squirrels that visit my bird feeders do not discover my peas!
