It is a glorious day here in Cape Town today - 29 degrees and a gentle breeze.
I rushed out this morning to the shops so that I could miss the crowds - well, it would seem everyone had the same idea as it was packed with people!
I think that I know why.
Whenever we have days like today, you can be assured that most people are going to have a "braai" and invite friends around.
This was obvious when I got to the meat counter where people were grabbing various meat packs to put into their trolleys.
The queues were long when I had completed my shopping so I had plenty of time to watch what items were being unpacked by the people in front of me.
I always enjoy to see what others are purchasing and today was no exception.
Plenty of cool drinks, bread rolls, meat and chicken packs, sausages, crisps, garlic breads and salad ingredients - oh, and bottles of wine.
By the time that I got out of the shops, there was bedlam in the parking area with people waiting for a space to park.
I reversed out only to find that a woman was just ahead of me with her indicator on, but her car was at an angle that it prevented me from getting out and stopping others from getting past her.
There were cars behind me as well so I could not even reverse.
The parking attendant went up to her window and was begging her to straighten up her car so that everyone could move.
She would not!!
By this time, I was losing my shit and so I blasted her with my hooter (my daughter would have been proud of me as I am normally more patient) and I was joined by a chorus of other drivers hooting at her too.
Her brain finally kicked in and she moved.
People!!!
