Did I phrase that wrongly?
That old song by Dinah Washington What a difference a day makes, 24 little hours... rings so true in life.
Sometimes life deals us good hands but at times bad ones, things can change in a split second, as most of us have experienced!
So...I believe in making the most of life at all times!
Appreciate the little wonders that nature provides; just as the sun rises every morning without fail, so it is in life.
No matter what difficulties we may be experiencing, we will pull through if we draw on that inner strength that each one of us possesses.
These gorgeous pansies were struggling to pop their heads out of the ground.
This was just a week ago!
Our lady is now standing in a field of gorgeous bright coloured pansies in full blossom.
Just look at them now, an abundance of beauty for anyone to see as they arrive at Lily's Cottage.
Living in a subtropical climate, we have mild winters but it was bitterly cold today as there currently is snow on the Drakensberg mountain range, some two hours from us but bringing icy winds our way.
Unbelievable to think that just two days ago it was like summertime here with a gorgeous hot sunshiny day and that's when I took the pics.
Despite this cold spell, these flowers are still happily showing off their beauty on a dull, cloudy and icy day.
Where does the name Pansy come from, as it's real name of course is Viola?
I learned that Pansy is derived from the French word Pensee, meaning a thought.
In my mother tongue Afrikaans, we call them Gesiggies, meaning little faces.
In Spanish they're called Pensamiento, meaning thoughts.
A lot of food for thought when we look at this flower that's so determined to show off no matter what the weather; so just as we all have our own ups and downs, let's not forget that old song What a difference a day makes, 24 little hours, and remember another true old phrase when things go wrong; Chin up, you can do it, just as the pansies or gesiggies/ little faces has shown us!
