Combine a nursery with a choice of beautiful and sometimes quirky gifts plus an eatery that offers a really nice menu with the best pizza in town as well as breathtaking views of the Valley of a Thousand Hills, and I'm hooked!
Stonehouse is one such place along the Old Main Road in Botha's Hill, which also happens to be on the route of the famous 90km Comrades Marathon.
Known as the ultimate human race run between Pietermaritzburg and Durban with the start alternating each year; this year it is the down-run to Durban.
Rocks for Africa can be bought here, all shapes, sizes as well as many different types of stone.
Stonehouse was established in 2019, and must really have felt the brunt of the Covid lockdown as they were very new, but they've certainly bounced back as they are always packed with shoppers and diners.
Crimson Pink Pentas Flowers from the nursery next to a water fountain with Lotus Flowers.
Steel & Beaded Art hiding among the plants.
A little beaded bird that will never fly away!
Colourful floral trays that I would not want to have any tea or coffee splatters on:)
South Africa's national flower the King Protea depicted on these paintings with another of a succulent I call the Desert Rose next to it.
They not only make the best pizza, but this quaint pizza board with its Rules caught my attention; the price tag was a tad hefty though!
Pretty colourful serving bowls on a wooden board and a leaf-shaped platter, very tempting as well!
Colourful kettles and other useful kitchen items. Lo and behold, I'd been looking for this style of oven gloves, and my niece quietly took one out of my hands and bought it for me. A tad pricey for oven gloves, but it's already well-used, so is worth it in the long run!
A Passion Fruit flower painted on a decorative tray.
Quaint Decor items
Scented Candles
Of course the visit would not be complete without sitting down on the level with the best views and enjoying a light meal afterwards; my choice...Pizza!
I hope you enjoyed visiting Stonehouse with me as part of @dswigle's stunning Planting a Market Friday!
