In the past week, I've been in self-quarantine from THE virus. Joking, I'm not infected (I think)! It's the Chinese new year's holiday where not a lot happens. And I have come down with a bit of a flu and cough, which I don't think is THE virus, so I've stayed in most of the time. Actually, I stayed in for four days without leaving my flat. Till two days ago, I dragged my self out in the cold for a walk. It felt really good breathing in the cold crisp air.

In case you don't know about THE virus, then congratulations, you're probably in a country that hasn't been infected, let's hope it stays that way. THE Wuhan coronavirus, or more specifically, the news about it, has been spreading faster than lightning around the world in the past week. The virus itself has spread to many Asian countries, Taiwan and Hong Kong of course aren't immune, due to our proximity to China. This graph is of 28th January, and excludes Lapland in Finland which was just announced a few hours ago.

The other reason I went out the other day, was really to see if I could pick up any face masks. Unlike the majority of the locals, I never wear any face masks so have literally none at home. Needless to say, there were none in the shops. Hand sanitisers were sold out as well. This was due to everyone rushing out to buy some, and the fact there were no deliveries over the holidays. I did manage to pick up the last bottle of Dettol.

Yesterday, I went out again. I asked at two chemist and one large supermarket and they had nothing. None. Nada, Zero. To be honest, I'm not too worried, as my human interaction with others nowadays can be pretty low. And the Taiwanese government, which can be trusted more than some others, have said there will be ample supply nationally when the holiday finishes today (29th Jan).

So till I manage to get my hands on some, all I have in the meanwhile is my bottle of Dettol, the little bit of hand sanitizers in those two bottles on the left. The other two bottles are empty.

I also have one face mask which I got during the elections the other week. I stuffed it in the cupboard when I got home that's why it's all crumpled up. Plus I have one that I've used a few times when doing my art stuff, and another unused one inside the opened packet. So that's 20ml of hand sanitser and two and a half face mask to see the two of us through till don't know when!!
