Hi there celticheartbeat@celticheartbeat apologies for the delay, I wanted to sit down properly to respond to your message but things have been a bit busy in the past week.

Firat of all, it's unfortunate that you feel Pinmapple is not for you going forward as we have enjoyed curating your content. In fact, out of your 49 pins, we curated 33 which is 67% curation rate, a lot higher than the average of 25% for all posts pinned onto Pinmapple.

There are only 3 top 3 posts every day compared to 10 - 15 HM, so yes, there is a lot of competition, and that can only be a good thing for the Hive ecosystem. Just to put things in perspective, the financial difference between Top 3 and HM on Pinmapple is the 60% upvote from Pinmapple and our trail, and 10% upvote from blocktrades and 5% upvote from theycallmedan both who have been very supportive of the work we do. And the difference between posting on Pinmapple or not could potentially be a lot more as the Pinmapple community often attracts other curation guilds' support, as they know where to find good quality content.

Pinmapple is after all a travel community and not a photography one. As I mentioned in my previous comment, the focus is on the author telling his or her travel experience, taking readers with them on their journey, and using good images as a supplement rather than they being the core focus of the post. I'm sure even if you posted your 100 image post in any of the photography communities they probably wouldn't appreciate it as much as if you took the time to carefully select your best 10 or 15 images. And for the same reason, apart from server cost, I'm sure there's a reason why Liketu has restrictions on the number of images.

Including 100 images in a post could feel like a photo dump, especially if it takes forever for readers to scroll through similar images taken at different angles. And worse still if curators have a bad network connection they will just have to ignore the post if it doesn't load. Not everyone is blessed like UK to have good internet connection, and even sometimes rural places in UK have crappy internet!!! 😖 Curators go through an awful lot of posts everyday, for example I could be curating anything between 40 to 70 posts a day on Pinmapple, so you really need something strong to catch curators' eyes immediately.

You said it took you 4 to 5 hours to make your 100 image post yet you feel the return wasn't really justified. In my humble curator experience, I think if you spent say 15 minutes selecting your best 10 - 15 images, another hour or so focusing on writing the content, then you would more than half the time spent on the post. The post would have had much more focus and no doubt attracting more curator's attention. Plus, you can still post from Liketu to the Pinmapple community or any other community if it's not a travel one.

With regards to the engagement data, I extracted it from a Discord bot developed to help combat anti abuse on Hive and is used by a handful of curators and those involved in anti abuse work. I remember there used to be a website that shows your posting activity split between post and comment, but I can't find it now. The next best is maybe this, just enter your username in User Drill Down.

Last and not the least, we can't force anyone to post in any community and of course, you should develop your account on Hive on how you feel is the best for you. Pinmapple always welcomes you should you change your mind and we hope you will do one day.
