Rarely do I find a beer that I actually like. And ironically I had to travel 650km from London to find a it!!
I don't know if it's because I'm very hungry today due to all the travelling, or if I like it because the glasses are so cute. And yes, I'm allowed to focus on the cute side of a beer cuz I'm a girl!! Cuteness overload right? All the way down to the tap.
Originally hubby ordered a pint of lager and half an IPA for me. His lager was called Bones, a 4.4% ABV from Beavertown in London. I found it a bit on the light side, and trust me, if I think it's light, it is light. Of course, hubby thought so as well. Whereas my IPA was very nice. It's locally brewed. Oh forgot to tell you!! I'm actually in Edinburgh in Scotland right now. My IPA is from Campervan Brewery and is called Leith Juice Orange Session, a 4.7% ABV. It had a very nice fresh taste, but I couldn't taste the orange. Not that it mattered, because it was awfully refreshing.
The four and a half-hour trip from London up to Edinburgh was quite tiring, a bit odd considering I was on the train. Plus unlike planes, I didn't have to go through the stress of passport control and customs, and I wasn't stuck in my seat all the time and could walk around. Dunno why I still find it quite tiring. So tired, we went for early dinner, and ordered burgers. These were yummilicious and like all burgers, always look great but are so messy to eat! Half way through and you end up with soggy dough, sauces dripping over your hands. Yuck!
For a change, I downed my half a pint pretty quick and fancied a bit more. Hubby decided to get a pint of my Leith Juice so I decided I'd just nick some of his. People talk about beer head all the time. To be honest, I have no idea how that relates to a beer, and whether it makes a beer good or not. Well, in my non expert opinion, I think this head is aesthetically very pleasing to the eye, and very foamy. Don't you want to dive straight in?!
