Today’s selection will be of 36 PHOTOGRAPHS
Date: 6 July 2023.
The Photographs in this post are all taken with my phone 📱🤓
I will follow the time stamps on them. So it looks like you are experiencing my #adventures on this #walk, to 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 #discover everything what I saw, like the little #details seen through my eyes.

Location of this estate we find on the following screenshots on google maps with the yellow arrow:

It is just next to the cute market town of Stamford I showed you recently.

Zooming in bit:

As you can see the estate is rather large…

More information about BURGHLEY HOUSE you find on their website : Burghley!

On Wikipedia you find the following information: Burghley House!

Let me show you what I saw on this walk now:

After we parked our car we walk towards this #magnificent house. It is gated with some stunning details.
alt

Reaching through the gates to photograph, we get these views 😊 imagine how old this building is. Just wow!
alt

You can also visit the inside of this house and explore its rooms and history. I have done so before… but today… we go for a walk outside, around the house, its estate 😊
alt

We are walking over the paths, I look back after a while and see this view. It is just stunning. Today it was overcast and some rain clouds will come soon. Luckily we didn’t get wet 😊
alt

A little bit further I discover some cannons that were standing in the distance. Let’s check out what that is all about.
alt

I capture this photo… the sky fits perfectly with the cannons.
alt

Looking further we see they are also building up a large podium. Something very cool is happening soon here. So we can’t walk everywhere.
alt

Let’s walk towards the bridge we see:
alt

Looking back we see Burghley House in the distance.
alt

We see a sign with more information about the BRIDGE we are soon crossing. They restored it in 2022.

More information about this 18th century bridge you find in the following website: Lion Bridge restoration

It is soooo stunning and mesmerising 😊 let me show you what I mean… when I say I am mesmerised by it’s details.
alt

We enter through the gate.
alt

On the right of us we see a path going across the river:
alt

This path is used by horses in an annual 3 day event/ competition : THE BURGHLEY HORSE TRIALS. See Horse trials 🐎 for more information

alt

Walking to the other side of the bridge 😊
alt

Zooming in a bit.
alt

The other side of the bridge.
alt

Looking at details… we go down. 😉
alt

My favourite photo of the day: one of the #lions 🦁 that are guarding the bridge. The sky is perfect here too, to get a #moody picture 📸
alt

The lions 🦁 are on 4 corners of the bridge.
alt

The lion 🦁 on the other side. They are very mesmerising, don’t you think?
alt

We go back and walk further over the estate now. Still areas we can not enter and we walk further around it.
alt

All of this and the cannons are part of the BATTLE PROMS… a #concert with a #picnic and sometimes also a firework 🎆 display.
alt

As we walk further we see this sign:
alt

The #trees are indeed #ancient on this estate. So people do need to watch out for falling branches. Most of them have a wire around them… probably the ones that lose the most branches 🌳🌳🌳🪵
alt

I capture some of these giants 🌳🌳🌳
alt

It is hard to capture how tall and thick they are.
alt

alt

Some details of one of the tree branches with BURGHLEY HOUSE in the background. 😊
alt

We are getting closer to the house again.
alt

On a bench we see a #gardener 👨‍🌾 #sleeping 💤
Sneaky capture…
alt

We decided to get some coffees ☕️☕️, well deserved after this long walk 😊
alt

Nice to see they are thinking about the #bees 🐝
alt

Looking around at this little coffee shop and outside space:
alt

Many flowers around us that attract bees 🐝🐝🐝
I capture this #bee gathering nectar and pollen… in the last moments that we spend on this estate.
alt

Thanks for coming along to discover something special today 😊

…and here I say that’s all for today’s post my friends.
