Join me today as we DISCOVER the city of #KARLSTAD, its #ARCHITECTURE, ART-SCENE and much more... . I visited this beautiful city on one of my trips abroad in the summer of this year.
KARLSTAD is located VÄRMLAND COUNTY in SWEDEN. 🇸🇪 Come along on this walk, there is lots to see 😊

Let’s walk around this city now 😊
As we were on a #roadtrip driving through many countries along the way, we only stayed here for one night. The hotel was located just outside the city centre. We could easily walk in.
Along the road we saw this monument / sculpture.
Let’s take a closer look… it has a sundial on it.
Many more details are visible when you take a good look.
I couldn't find a description (sign) of it at this location… but took a few captures to show you.
A few street further we reach the large #river that runs through the #city. We walk along it further.
I walk over the grass towards the edge and look to the right. Capturing this view. We see a bridge in the distance. I love it when I also can capture a bird in flight 😎 to make the photo stand out even more. Do you see it?
The first large buildings we see are these. Their architecture is beautiful.
A closer look at the tower.
Following the path along the river further we can see in the distance the city centre appears.
Another sculpture… very interesting 🤔
Behind us we see the Opera house very classic and elegant. Beautiful…
Crossing the large bridge we look around. The right side is where we came from.
I like the large buildings along the river. They stand out.
Looking back at the stunning architecture / buildings we walked by. Almost perfect… if only the water was stiller 😂
We decided to walk along the left side of the river, we saw a few photos back.
We come across more sculptures. Pretty cool 😎
I didn’t know what to expect in this city. Now I am glad I #explored it further. To be able to share its beauty and my discoveries with you today 😊
Everywhere I look I see art 🥰
I only have to turn… and I find another #artwork. The ART-SCENE in Karlstad is large… let’s explore a bit more.
Getting closer I see the sculptures are forms right out of #NATURE
Beautifully sculpted. Rather large too.
Crossing more streets and wandering through a covered shopping mall… I see this bike. So colourful 🌼🐝🌼🐝 and fun.
There is a large square in the city centre, where the townhouse is located. As you can see, not too many tourists either. So it is a pleasant city to explore even in the summer.
As we want to check out the Värmlands #Museum we walk to the other side of the city centre… again along the river. Here there are not many people around.
As it is rather late already, the museum would close in 30 minutes. (It was 16:57h here)
So we couldn’t enter… but I decided to walk around and show you the exterior of it. There is lots to see too.
I see something…
Wow 🤩 thats cool 😎 look! …on the corners of the roof, you can see large eagles 🦅
There are 4 of them 🦅🥰 stunning!
One of the exit doors of the museum. It is an artwork of its own. Just look at that window.
Standing in front of that door, looking out we see this pond.
Next to it, many wildflowers 🌼🌸🌼🌸🌼 the #bees 🐝 will be happy 😃

In the middle we see another sculpture. Two little girls.
It is beautiful. Great #artwork.
From each direction it looks beautiful.
Standing at the end of the large pond, looking back. I am fascinated by the fact that everything in this city seems to be very artistic. Everywhere you look. I surely didn’t expect to find this 🤩 a lucky day it was.
Wandering through this gate…
Yes, it is all a photographer’s dream hahaha
I could spend hours wandering around this city, trying to capture it all. Too bad I am only 1 day here.
Let’s walk back to the city centre.
Guess what… we see more sculptures along the river.
This clam is pretty cool 😎
It is listening to the city, or is it playing music… or even whispering to the people. What do you think?
The views are stunning. The city is also very clean…
Wandering through the shopping streets I did also find a few murals, I will share them in another post one day 😊
Let me share today some other arty finds from this city.
This boy is intriguing… look at his hands and arms. Is he rooting himself?
This house stood out, it is almost like nature is taking it over 🥰
We find even sculptures on the benches in this city. Hahaha this is a funny one. A shame from the empty bottle.
Not far from the dog… we see this sculpture in the wall.
Closer by…
The first sign I find next to an artwork.
Standing on the bridge… we look for a restaurant to have some food.
We found a cute place along the large square in the city centre.

Both were delicious and a lot of food…
I recommend visiting this restaurant when you are in the area.
Also… do not skip this cute city. So much to do and see. I really loved wandering around it. To imagine I haven’t seen it all either. I will go back one day to discover more art...
