There is a local wildfire watch app. Officials, locals and expats use.
They just announced that they class it level 0, what means they have it “under control”. Now they need to extinguish it fast. That’s why there are more planes and helicopters in the sky. I guess it will still take a few days. But they got it under control 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 White smoke is good… that’s water evaporating. When it goes darker… no good.
So let’s hope all goes well. Because it was and still is rather scary, especial after last years fire.

I live here since 2015. It’s rather close by. Last year Estepona mountain burned fully… for weeks on end in the whole of September. End of October they only extinguished it. 10.000 hectares was lost.
This new fire got close to that area. That hasn’t recovered yet. Not sure if you went up the estepona mountain yet, but you still can see it. It’s all black and brown from last year.
