🏴 Church Hill Wood walk and Little Loch Shin in Lairg ~ Scotland 🏴~ Wednesday Walk
Hi all 👋🏻
Let me show you today a walk I did when I still lived in Scotland 🏴 not that long ago 😉 as… I still have many things to show and tell you from those short but wonderful 4 months there 😎

Let’s start our walk from today 😊 are you coming along?
I promise this will be a short amble this time 😎
This woodland and the walk through it is located in Lairg on the west coast of Scotland and there is a Little Loch (lake) too with its large dam.
At the entrance of the #woodland we see this sign:

The first thing we notice when we stand at the sign is there are a few wooden sculptures around. How wonderful 😎
A seating area with again more wooden sculptures.
I like it what a nice surprise and I suspect we will see many more. 🥰
Shall we have a look around and try to find them all 🤓
Just looking up we see:

So cute…
But… we came here to walk a bit, so let’s walk up the hill.
We see Bambi along the path.
Of course the mother isn’t far 😉
Walking higher up we start to see also a bit from the view.
Here… it was still #winter so the trees are bare. The sky was blue and no clouds to be seen.
The sun was shining in the wrong spots, so it was difficult to get good captures of the wooden sculptures. ☀️ but I try my best 🤓
We find benches along the path we walk. Looking out towards the Loch 😊
Such cute animals are portrayed in the #artworks / sculptures.
As we walk further we even see a badger 🦡
At the first look out, just above the war memorial, we have a stunning view across the Little Loch Shin.
In the far distance you see the dam.
As we walk further we come across this sculpture.
The fox 🦊 is beautifully carved. I like #art and any form of it.
After this sculpture the path goes quickly down again and we reach the street.
We decide to walk along the Little Loch towards the left a little as I did see something in the distance I wanted to check out.
Have a look at this little house on this little island.
Even a tree grows along it and some birds are resting. On Google maps it is called ”The Wee Hoose” (as you can see in the first screenshot above)
We walk along to the right of the Loch now, until we stop at a restaurant for some lunch. As from all that walking uphill we get thirsty and hungry 😊
The restaurant has a lake frontage and we walk out onto the garden and pier.

There are even some chairs so you can enjoy the view and the nice sun. Although sunny, it is still pretty cold this day. Believe me.
Looking towards that little house on the island in the distance and the hill on the left we walked up.
The water is calm, just a few ripples we made when we stepped onto the pier…
…and here I say let’s get some lunch and finish today’s post my friends.
