Atomic patterns trembling.
A slow descent into entropy
As the earth spins
And revolves
Axis tilted
Dancing to the wandering pole.
Three quarters of the way from galactic central
Hurled across the unfathomable distance.
Life retreats to radiation,
Faces turned to the fading sun,
Toward each other in the polar caress.
Movement ceases
Frozen in a single frame
Blown by breezes
The crystalline shimmers of our breath.
