Greetings Hivers!!!
I would like to tell you that I have been distant from the platform due to a new commitment, which demands a lot of my time. However, there is always time for a coffee and the best company.
A few days ago I arranged with my mother and daughter to meet for a while, walk around, visit stores, buy if we liked something too much or we could not resist its price, despite not wanting to spend on unnecessary items or that are not a priority.
It was a girls' day, my husband took me to the city of Caracas and there I met them.
We decided to go to the town of El Hatillo located in the state of Miranda, so as not to lock ourselves so soon in a shopping mall. The place has picturesque streets and brightly colored houses that have been transformed into food stores.
After walking and talking for a while, my mother insisted on going to the mall located a few meters away.
As I expected, she wanted to go into the stores and take advantage of the season's bargains ha, ha, ha, ha, she is still a compulsive shopper. After buying two pairs of sweatpants, my daughter longed to sit for a while and we all agreed that a coffee would do us good.
So we went back to town and entered a shop called "Dulces Criollos El Hatillo" in front of Bolivar square. There they offer typical Venezuelan sweets, with their own Creole recipes and others that are not so typical and not so Creole, but all of them delicious.
It took us a while to choose among so much variety, but what we were sure about were the three large lattes to enjoy.
Finally my daughter said, "I want alfajores", my mother then said "I want an oreo cookie cupcake" and to finish the order I asked for a bacon tartlet, ha, ha, ha, ha. I was the only one who took a chance trying something different. To everyone's surprise, each coffee included a chocolate truffle.
When I received the coffees, the first thing that caught my attention were the disposable cups with lids and handles, quite a coquetry, although the lid was not placed but as a plate for the truffles. In order not to have to return my mother's coffee, I asked the barista to serve it piping hot.
We took our seats and began to enjoy the snack. I tried to drink the coffee through the hole in the lid, but it was uncomfortable and I was afraid of burning myself, so we all said "No lid", although we put them on to toast and photograph the moment. The coffee was deliciously creamy, just right.
The ambiance of the place is very nice, the sweets were delicious and I only spent $15.00. I was the guest that day. We are looking forward to coming back to taste that coffee again, and I want a souvenir glass because my daughter did not let me take it with me that day.
I think she's maturing and I'm regressing. Up until a year ago she was the one who wanted to keep all the pretty glasses where they served coffee. I would end up cleaning them and putting them in my purse and when I got home I would wash them. Then, starting the next day, my daughter would drink her coffee in that glass, until they deteriorated and I had to throw them away or I would get tired of keeping them and at the first carelessness, they would go down the drain.
Undoubtedly, this escape from daily duties brought me happiness. Since the first days of January I had not shared a coffee with my daughter and my mother.
That's all for today dear colleagues, I hope to continue sharing coffee experiences.
I bid you farewell wishing you good vibes馃挒
