I never imagined that one day I would want to move out of what was my first apartment, the one I acquired after years of hard work and capricious restrictions to achieve the goal, but everything changes. There are better options and this opportunity that the company gave me does not come twice in a lifetime. I am happy for the trust placed in me.
It is an opportunity to leave the past (Erick), that apartment was impregnated with his smell and his departure still hurts even though I was the one who made the decision to separate us.
My boss suggested that I hire a company to take care of the moving, I just have to be there when the truck arrives with my belongings. I didn't know I had so much stuff until it was time to pack.
The new apartment is so well located that it takes advantage of all the natural light and there will be no need for air conditioners, the breeze circulates through the large panoramic windows keeping it fresh and bright.
I almost didn't sleep, I'm experiencing anxiety so I'm going to prepare a large amount of coffee while waiting for the moving truck. The inflatable mattress is not comfortable at all, I don't even know how I put up with it when I've gone camping. Today I will sleep in my warm and beautiful bed.
I'm carrying two cups of coffee and I'm looking out the window at what I've been waiting for. I leave the mug on the kitchen counter and go downstairs to give the truck with my possessions access to the parking lot of the building.
Three young men take everything to the apartment. Within two hours there is nothing left to take upstairs. Now the hard work falls to me, but I'll take it easy. I have a week's vacation to bring everything up to date, even painting some walls has caused me to do.
All the boxes are identified with what they contain, however there is one that catches my attention because it stands out from the rest. I decide to go to the kitchen to refill my cup of coffee and this time I will accompany it with a slice of chocolate cake that I bought at the bakery around the corner, my nerves are already calm.
I remove the security tape, open it slowly and my mouth falls open at the sight of its contents...
A white bird comes out of it, wearing a red and elegant bow, in one of its legs there is a ring, well two and a card at the bottom.
Marry Me!!!
Oh my god, it's a marriage proposal. I'm confused, is it Erick? No, I don't want it to be him, but if not him, then who? Do I have a secret admirer? And why ask for marriage before a courtship? I hope it's the manager of the marketing company I like so much.
As I talk to myself, the bird flies around the apartment until it drops the ring. I try it on and none of them fit me, it's too big, what a disappointment.
I continue drinking the coffee before it gets cold and I take another taste of the piece of cake. I detect some boxes with tape of a different color than the one I chose, I open another one and find a sealed envelope, it is a pregnancy test with a positive result, the ultrasound and newborn clothes, one in blue and the other in pink.
I continue confused and go for the third box. There were several real estate magazines and the phone number of a consultant. There were also pictures of a couple traveling in different countries.
I think I understand, the marriage proposal is not for me, these boxes do not belong to me, the company must have confused and mixed up the move. Now there is someone waiting for a YES as an answer and the bird has already reached freedom through my window.
But...who is asking for marriage? Is it what I would never dare to do? Is it the girl who is taking the step, after finding out she is pregnant?
I'm so excited, my eyes are already watering.
I look for my cell phone and call the person who attended me for the moving service, I explain what is happening and immediately I receive an apology and the commitment that my missing boxes will be located as soon as possible, at the same time they will send a representative to my apartment to check each of the delivered boxes and remove the ones that do not belong to me.
I have no choice but to wait... I make another call to my boss who has been keeping an eye on the process and I tell him the news. Embarrassed, he apologized to me since he was the one who recommended me the service.
Finally my friend @ungranulises arrives and helps me to set up the bed in my room, my back thanks him, another night on that inflatable mattress and I'm a finished woman.
After a while of laughter and anecdotes, the missing boxes arrive and the marriage proposal with a ring, but without a bird, is removed. The protagonist of the scene was about to sue the company for having lost her package.
As I imagined, it was a chicha who made the proposal.
A few months later, I was informed that the couple got married and were happy with the news that they would be the parents of twins.
This is my entry of the week
