As I learn about the concepts of decentralization; I came upon to contemplate its application on the very fabric of reality. Their nearly seems to be an intrinsic, natural attraction towards the idea. It's almost as if the fundamental, underlying ideology of it is already in our DNA making that "Ah Ha!" moment when it made sense as a phenomenal epiphany. While this may not be true for all, I certainly experienced this feeling.
On a holographic level, each piece contains the whole no matter how many times it is divided; thus if a hologram is broken into billions of pieces, each piece would contain the entire picture. The ledger system in our cryptocurrencies reminded me exactly of this. The whole blockchain is a part of every individual transaction.
This also draws a parallel to fractal theory; a self-similar pattern across different scales. Each fraction contains the whole no matter how non-linear or decentralized it is. This brings us full circle to concept of Oneness. The big bang theory shows how everything came from one thing following similar rules regardless of decentralization and non-locality. Ofcourse this brings us to quantum theory although I will save that for another write up after I have gone further down this rabbit (w)hole. These concepts of universality where no central component dictates the system can be be seen in both math and nature (also well described in the Wired article from 2013 "In Mysterious Pattern, Math and Nature Converge").
Alan Watts made the concepts of Eastern Taoism accessible the Western world showing us "if there is any knower at all, it contains the known," & "difference is identity, identity is difference;" thus 'reality' a decentralized experience of Oneness.
