These photos are my entry for the #monomad contest by 
[ENGLISH] Yesterday I bought some yuccas whose scientific name is Manihot esculenta, this is a very consumed tuber in our country, Cuba.
It is used to accompany traditional foods such as rice and beans in their different cooking variants.
This is native to central South America and has been cultivated in most of the tropical and subtropical areas of the American continent.
The fresh root should be consumed within a short time, because due to its high starch content it is quickly decomposed by the action of various microorganisms.
The moment I bought it, while I was watching it, the idea of taking some photos came to my mind, it seemed to me that good contrasts could be achieved in black and white, because its dark exterior contrasts with the white color of its interior.
So I put my thought into practice, I took my Nikon D5000 camera and from different angles I captured the photos that I'm showing you today, they were all edited in Photoshop CS6.
The photographic process had several moments which I explain below.

En el d铆a de ayer compr茅 unas yucas cuyo nombre cient铆fico es Manihot esculenta, este es un tub茅rculo muy consumido en nuestro pa铆s, Cuba.
Se utiliza para acompa帽ar los alimentos tradicionales como el arroz y los frijoles en sus diferentes variantes de cocci贸n.
Esta es originaria del centro de Am茅rica del Sur y se ha cultivado en la mayor parte de las zonas tropicales y subtropicales del continente americano.
La ra铆z fresca debe consumirse en un plazo breve, ya que debido a su alto contenido de almidones se descompone r谩pidamente por la acci贸n de diversos microorganismos.
Al instante de comprarla, mientras la observaba, vino a mi mente la idea de tomarles unas fotos, me pareci贸 que se pod铆a lograr buenos contrastes en blanco y negro, pues su exterior oscuro contrasta con el color blanco de su interior.
As铆 que puse en pr谩ctica mi pensamiento, cog铆 mi c谩mara Nikon D5000 y desde diferentes 谩ngulos capture las fotos que hoy les muestro, todas fueron editadas en Photoshop CS6.
El proceso fotogr谩fico tuvo varios momentos los cuales explico a continuaci贸n.
[EN] In these first photos I try to show the tuber in its most natural form without printing large shades.
[ES] En estas primeras fotos trato de mostrar el tub茅rculo en su forma m谩s natural sin imprimirle grandes tonalidades.
[EN] In this second stage, I wanted to play a little with the shadows trying to achieve a contrast with the sun's rays.
[ES] En esta segunda etapa, quise jugar un poco con las sombras tratando de lograr un contraste con los rayos del sol.
[EN] In this third stage, I accentuated the contrasts and played a little with the white balance and the highlights, these were the photos that I liked the most.
[ES] En esta tercera etapa, acent煤e los contrastes y jugu茅 un poco con el balance de blancos y los brillos, est谩 fueron las fotos que m谩s me gustaron.
