Innovation starts with personal exploration that drives you outside your comfort zone, then only at the end you are able to break through existing architectures, theories, and conventions that have been established and force new ideas into being.
To innovate means to think differently. First, you need to break away from the doubt created by convention. Don’t compare your thoughts with what others have thought or done before you, but think iconoclastic: how can we make things completely different? This is about the edge of human thinking. The brain generates a lot of ideas unconsciously and so it explodes with possible solutions that can be hard for many humans to grasp at first glance, but through study and application, it is possible for some people to achieve an understanding of these seemingly random creative energies of life.
However, innovation is not a skill, it needs creative processes to be successful. New artists are often turned down by the art galleries yet children get whole pages of their artwork hung up in pamphlets for being different rather than lacking in talent. Industry firms have it better because they can give their employees perks like free books, chairs for health, or relaxing meetings but small start-ups and individuals in fields that are not perceived as creative carry with them the millstone of their preconceptions.
It is up to the artist to take responsibility for themselves; those who think differently may benefit from adopting methods that are alien to the way society thinks about innovation: constant comparisons, a sense of advantage rather than a disadvantage, and cognitive "thinking outside the box" exercises - like yoga or innovative diets.
Innovation is a never-ending process and the top organizations have the people who have such high creativity and intelligence that they are capable of solving a larger number of problems. The most fascinating discovery over the last century has been about our brain’s amazing plasticity, which throughout life we can keep rewiring our connections. People in love are much more open to new music, experiences, and whole elements of their personality. Artistic people look at the world differently, they produce connectedness between otherwise distant phenomena while strengthening your mental edge in order to improve perception.
