No s茅 si en el futuro ser谩 un lector empedernido 馃 como yo, pero, mientras tanto, me ocupo de inculcarle el amor m谩s sublime que conozco, el amor a los libros 馃摎.
Hace aproximadamente tres meses que trabajo como Comunicadora en la Biblioteca P煤blica Provincial Elvira Cape, el segundo Repositorio Bibliogr谩fico m谩s importante del pa铆s. En este tiempo solo dos veces he tra铆do a mi ni帽o conmigo, pero, esta ocasi贸n fue realmente emocionante. Verlo disfrutar del tour por la instalaci贸n me alegro much铆simo 馃グ.
I don't know if in the future he will be an inveterate reader 馃 like me, but, in the meantime, I take care of instilling in him the most sublime love I know, the love of books 馃摎.
For approximately three months I have been working as a Communicator at the Elvira Cape Provincial Public Library, the second most important Bibliographic Repository in the country. In this time I have only brought my child with me twice, but this time it was really exciting. Seeing him enjoy the tour of the installation makes me very happy.
Comenzamos por la Sala de Literatura, en el tercer piso. La Biblioteca P煤blica Provincial Elvira Cape, ubicada en Calle Heredia entre P铆o Rosado (Carnicer铆a) y San F茅lix, en el coraz贸n del casco hist贸rico de nuestra hermosa ciudad Santiago de Cuba, consta de nueve salas. Cada una a su vez tiene para compartir con los usuarios "Muestras Bibliogr谩ficas" que var铆an cada quince d铆as, con la intenci贸n de promocionar el patrimonio de la instituci贸n.
Luego seguimos a la Sala General Joel James Figarola. Estas dos est谩n a continuaci贸n la una de la otra, y las rodea un balc贸n desde donde se observa la estrechez de la calle y las diversas locaciones.
We start with the Literature Room, on the third floor. The Elvira Cape Provincial Public Library, located on Calle Heredia between P铆o Rosado (Carnicer铆a) and San F茅lix, in the heart of the historic center of our beautiful city Santiago de Cuba, consists of nine rooms. Each one in turn has to share with users "Bibliographic Samples" that vary every fifteen days, with the intention of promoting the heritage of the institution.
Then we continue to the General Joel James Figarola Room. These two are next to each other, and a balcony surrounds them from where you can see the narrowness of the street and the various locations.
Pero las vistas realmente hermosas se ven desde la azotea, que vendr铆a quedando en un cuarto piso. Rumbo a la Sala Cubana se llega hasta dicha azotea. Pero, primero llegamos al lugar de los tesoros. Ah铆 se encuentra el Repositorio de "Fondos Raros", donde se almacenan documentos patrimoniales de suprema importancia para la historia de nuestra provincia, donde estuvo la primera capital de la Isla.
But the really beautiful views are seen from the roof, which would be on the fourth floor. Heading to the Cuban Room you reach said rooftop. But first we arrive at the treasure place. There is the Repository of "Rare Funds", where heritage documents of supreme importance for the history of our province, where the first capital of the Island was located, are stored.
La muestra de esa sala en esta ocasi贸n estaba dedicada a Carlos Manuel de C茅spedes, uno de los h茅roes de la historia cubana. Sobre la mesa varios libros mostraban diferentes momentos de las luchas por la independencia y Maty se asombr贸 al ver los soldados, hizo preguntas y me dediqu茅 a explicarle qu茅 significaba "independencia" 馃.
The exhibition in that room on this occasion was dedicated to Carlos Manuel de C茅spedes, one of the heroes of Cuban history. On the table several books showed different moments of the struggles for independence and Maty was amazed when she saw the soldiers, she asked questions and I dedicated myself to explaining to her what "independence" meant 馃.
Los retratos que est谩n en la pared en las fotos que muestro arriba son el se帽or emilio Bacard铆 y su se帽ora Elvira Cape. Cuando se fund贸 la Biblioteca el era el Alcalde de la ciudad, hace 125 a帽os atr谩s. Hace solo un par de meses celebramos dicho aniversario.
The portraits that are on the wall in the photos I show above are Mr. Emilio Bacardi and his wife Elvira Cape. When the Library was founded he was the Mayor of the city, 125 years ago. Just a couple of months ago we celebrated this anniversary.
Otra de las salas en la que estuvimos de visita fue en la Infanto-juvenil. En la sala de Braile- pregunt贸 si los libros eran m谩gicos 馃槅, ya que no contienen letras ni im谩genes. Fue un momento hermoso para aprovechar y explicarle acerca de las discapacidades que algunas personas padecen y sobre la importancia de la inclusividad en todas las funciones y actividades sociales.
Another of the rooms we visited was the Infant-youth room. In Braile's room- he asked if the books were magical 馃槅, since they do not contain letters or images. It was a beautiful moment to take advantage and explain to him about the disabilities that some people suffer from and about the importance of inclusivity in all social functions and activities.
Cuando terminamos el recorrido nos fuimos a pintar en mi oficina. Realmente fue un d铆a hermoso juntos. Adoro que combinemos el pasar tiempo de calidad los dos, con el placer que ofrece el conocimiento, los saberes y para m谩s dicha rodeados de libros.
When we finished the tour we went to paint in my office. It really was a beautiful day together. I love that we combine spending quality time with the two of us, with the pleasure offered by knowledge, knowledge and, even more, happiness surrounded by books.
