Celtic Punk is Punk Rock based on traditional Irish and Scottish music.
One of the pioneers of this style and one of the most famous bands of the genre are The Pogues who took off in th early 80s.
Over the last two centuries many Irish went to the US in search of a better life, so it´s no surprise that the US also has some great Celtic Punk bands, especially on the East Coast.
But even LA has Celtic Punk.
One of the most popular bands Flogging Molly is going strong still today, even offering a yearly cruise since 2015 called Salty Dog Cruise with lots of different bands on a cruise ship.
