Lost Forever

Diamonds in the sky, the city of lights

come to us with a visual mind toy

that we play with but never master.

Coffee along the Champ Elysee, you pay

for what you get...the world goes by

going nowhere except where your dreams

take them.

Monuments to past whispers and glories

caught in bronze and mortar, forever silent,

dying for a change, a social casualty whose

greatnesses are cast in fevered urgency.

These behemoths to man's stupidity of

self actualization are green now with knowing

nothing matters.

The dark and deep Left Bank brings

munchkins looking for Dorothy to help

her with her quarter life crisis, playing

their bamboozles and rat ons to the

beat of the city of unending scrutiny.

They are jaded with no where to go,

Love escapes them.

What can we say of Paris, this majestically

anointed city of lights that hasn't already been

murmured for centuries. Paris draw me in

this seemingly impossible state of being that

is sure to crush me. Oh my lady Paris your

siren songs crash my vessel that I cast upon

your shore.
