It was an interesting round of disc golf today. My friend and I played at a local eighteen-basket course that we don't usually play at.

Street people were everywhere, and that was why we usually don't play the course.

During the warm-up, my friend stepped on some dog or (human?) poop on the way to the first tee pad. We decided to skip the first hole until later because there was someone sprawed out in the middle of the fairway. We passed a couple of furtive looking women dressed in rags on the way to hole two.

Someone was in the middle of hole six's fairway with a blanket over his head, apparently doing drugs.

In the middle of the fairway of hole two, there was an RV parked that was there since the last time we played the course about a week ago. There is not supposed to be any overnight camping in the park, but people do it.

There was trash everywhere. I'm not sure why things are they way they are sometimes.

I managed to win the round with a +3 score to my friend's +7. We played a few more holes since my friend lost a disc in a bramble patch on hole four. We searched there for a while, and my friend was just about to leave when I found his disc. He was really happy to get it back.

My friend wanted to try one of my speed thirteen drivers, so I let him throw my D4 Air. He was really impressed with it, and it sailed a long way for him. As we were walking up to where we thought it went, someone in a truck threw the disc at us saying, "Is this yours?"

I said, "Thanks." As he was driving away, I thought to myself that I really should have told him that he should have left it where it was. I figured that by the way he was driving away from us, he knew that.

He drove over to right by the next tee pad and started tossing trash from out of his truck into the woods. I figured that he was just ripe to pick a fight with us, so I chose to ignore him and just threw a drive off the tee.

As we were leaving the park, we noticed that the odd looking character watching the young kids playing soccer had left. But off in the distance, we heard a very angry man raging loudly in foul language. At first, I thought he was just being chased by some imaginary demons or something, but as he came closer, we noticed that there was a woman following him.

We both figured it was time to get out of Dodge, so about the time he came storming into the parking lot demanding the people call 911, we got out of there.

Honestly, that's enough of that disc golf course for a while. The city is in the process of putting in a fence to prevent the overnight campers from parking all over the course, but until that happens, I'm planning on playing elsewhere and if I had younger kids I would recommend they play elsewhere too.

I feel like people do need some support, and I think we could do a lot better on many aspects of things. I wish there were some good solutions.
