It was a fun tournament for me today. Physically I was not feeling my best and my back and arm were tender so I was not throwing as far as usual. It slowed me down a bit but my main issue was missing some easy putts and throwing an easy approach out-of-bounds.
The good news is that I did end up with a first-place win in my division and should be getting some scrip this week. I did make some longer putts that I was very proud of making too.
Sometimes distances that you know you should be able to make can get difficult when there is a lot of pressure on you. The thing that would help me is to learn how to deal with the mental aspect of the game in tournaments better.
I threw my new Mantra disc one time on a shorter uphill forehand approach. It turned out just as good as the disc that I usually use for the throw. Next time I'll put a bit more power on the throw and try to get it a bit closer. I'm still not familiar enough with the disc to know how much power I can put on it. The high glide and understability should do fine for the uphill throw.
