I mostly relaxed today and did some pacing around for my steps. Even Doggie did not want to walk too far today for some reason.
We went looking for the "Old Hospital Building" and I took this photo:
I'm not sure if this was the old hospital because the siding on the building looked more recent than the building we were trying to find. There was another rooftop off behind some trees but without walking around over private land I could not get a good photo. There was a really old-looking truck parked in front of this building that my friend thought might be the old ambulance for the hospital.
This area used to have a lot more people living here when they were harvesting the large trees. Once the trees were all gone the mill closed and a lot of people moved out. My friend said that sometimes they would burn their place first to get the insurance money.
You can see a lot of bare areas where the secondary tree growth is being harvested now. I don't think the industry employs as many people as it did before though.
Thanks for reading! I always value your support and comments. The pictures were taken by me with my Galaxy S22 Ultra. Text and graphics copyright lightsplasher & litesplasher
