I played an eighteen basket round of disc golf this morning with my son. The rain had finally stopped but it was a bit windy and wet everywhere.
My son was having a rather bad round with a lot of difficulty putting. I ended up winning by a wide margin, which was rather unusual. He didn't feel like playing a second round so we wandered a bit by the river and looked for discs.
I was still trying to find the three discs I lost on hole eight. The river is still running very high and I could not see anything in the water.
I did find a nice Thunderbird disc in premium Champion plastic. I like these discs a lot although I don't typically throw them much. Now I have three of them. There was no name on the one that I found so I'm going to keep it.
I think this disc might work well on hole eight so now that I have a bunch of spares I might try throwing it backhand in the wind. The problem here is that with the typical left to right wind that blows towards the river, if a backhand turns and burns it will go a long way out in the water. (That's what happened to my Claymore but it was too understable to fight back at all.) The Thunderbird disc should be stable enough to fade back into the crosswind. (Hopefully, LOL.)

I personally like the first photo a bit better but it is fun to try out different things and the darker background is nice too.
