Today I played disc golf with my friend. It was pretty windy and rainy and I arrived just a bit wet from the e-bike ride.
My friend was having a horrible time with the wind and was not happy with his score. He ended up not finishing the round but I played the last few baskets after he left.
Here's a black and white photo I did of the course today. Sometimes I like looking at trees in black and white, especially in the rainy winter days when there is no leaves.

Once I tossed my disc into this stump and had to play it out of the inside. It is a pretty big area in the center and you can get inside.
Disc golf has a big mental aspect of it. I can usually have a good time just being out in the forest and taking some pictures if nothing else. The wind today made things very challenging but I kind of liked it.
One of my throws went way up into the air going into a right to left headwind. It ended up fading hard left after traveling out towards the river. The wind even blew it backwards a bit when it started fading. It made for a much longer second throw but I used a driver and got it right next to the basket to make par.
My friend had a much better drive from the tee and the wind did not drive it back. He had shorter second throw but when he used the putter the wind got under that and blew it off course so he ended with a bogie.
The wind can really take putter discs all over the place if they are not thrown level. I just kind of go with the flow and try not to let it bother me too much when it happens.
My friend was really worried about having such weather on the tournament day. I guess I'm not that concerned about the weather but I'm not that great with crowds so I hope I can get over that aspect of it. I'm not expecting a lot from my first tournament and just want to be out for a fun time and to see if I like it.
