There was a bit of frost this morning but it warmed up enough for my son and I to play some disc golf in the afternoon with a friend. Everyone had fun and it was over a month since my son last played. On the new course he played really well for the first time trying it and liked it a lot.
I had fun playing but had a couple of really bad throws. I ended up throwing my Valkyrie disc in the river again. (That's twice this has happened on the same basket.) You would think I would learn not to throw that disc for this basket but I have also parked it right under the basket for a birdie too.
The river was cold as usual and Star Lite plastic does sort of float if the current is just right. It kind of drifted along just scraping the bottom and the river was shallow enough for me to get it back. It is a good thing I got down in time to get it before it washed out of my range.
I opened up one of my Christmas presents early - it was a nice pair of new running shoes. I sprayed them with water proofing and went for a walk taking some pictures this Christmas eve.
There were a lot of nice light displays all over the neighborhood. This was just a few of them. I particularly liked some of the moving projected lights that light up the trees.
The new shoes are really nice. I tossed out two old pairs of shoes to make room for them. One pair lasted me almost exactly a year. There were some serious holes in the bottom though. The other pair was about ten years old and were doing fine until I started playing disc golf in them. They fell apart in a couple of months of disc golfing.
I hope the new shoes last for awhile. The courses are pretty muddy right now so I'm a bit hesitant to wear them but running shoes are so much better than boots if it is not that wet.
Happy holidays to everyone out there! I hope you are all doing well this season.
