This morning started out really nicely. The fog and mist burned off just enough for me to ride my e-bike to one of the more difficult disc golf courses around here without serious worry about not being seen by the traffic that frequents the highways around here.
I arrived at the course to a really nice view of the surroundings: (Foreshadowing: note the yellow Tern disc sandwiched between the red and clear discs on the pole.)
I managed to almost make par on the first par four basket which is pretty good for me on this course. On the second basket I almost made a birdie which is really good considering I have spent time in the past climbing trees to recover discs on this basket.

On the third basket I was feeling pretty good and confident and thought I would try a more difficult anhyzer throw. (I usually throw a hyzer flip between some trees but sometimes I miss and hit the trees or bushes.)
I didn't fully commit to the throw and didn't put enough power on it. It faded too soon and landed in some taller grass. I thought it would not be too hard to find.
Searching... searching... searching... After and extended period I found a disc buried completely in the thick straw like grass. Pulled it out and... its not my disc.
Bummer. :( It's and orange Star Destroyer. I like the color but not really my first choice in plastic plus really kind of over-stable for my arm speed. Still though, a nice find. There's a number on the back so I call the person. It turns out they live a long ways away so they let me have the disc. Nice. :)
I still can't find my GStar Tern disc. This is the second one I have lost on this course so I search some more. Looking under the grass I find this really interesting looking newt:
I've never seen anything like this before. Very interesting and it stayed still long enough to get a picture.
Well, I guess my Tern turned into a Newt LOL.
I don't really have any good long range understable drivers at this point. I gave my Wraith disc away. I guess I'm putting my Mamba disc back in the bag. I like this disc but it kind of doesn't work too well on a forehand flick for me plus it is a bit too understable.
I'm not worried though, when you lose a disc something else seems to come your way. As a worst case I can always go out and buy another Tern disc. This time I'm going to get a better color. (Maybe Newt black if they make it, lol. Just kidding, pink would be better but I don't think they make that either.)
