I did lots of disc golfing and some things around the house today for my steps. I rode my e-bike down to the eighteen basket course and found a brand new disc sitting right in the middle of the fairway. There was no name on it and noboday around so I thought maybe it was a new disc for me.
Then I remembered seeing a group of people playing on the way in and thought perhaps I should ask them. Sure enough one of them had left it behind as they were warming up and was happy to get it back.
It was rather windy and I wasn't sure if I wanted to play this challenging a course but I played a few baskets until I notice a large crowd. Sometimes I'm not that good around large crowds and get kind of moody, shall we say.
They were playing some really awful battle music, imho and were dressed in strange costumes. They had these long wooden clubs and were hitting these spherical rock type things dangerously close to the disc golf course. ๐โบ๐
I thought it best to let them do their thing and go and play elsewhere so I wandered kind of aimlessly down to the boat launch by the river. As I was wandering around some street person whistled and yelled at me, "Are you okay?"
It is probably not a real good sign when the street people start worrying about you. I waved and gave a thumbs up hoping that would reassure him. Really I was in a pretty happy place but I guess sometimes I look like I'm not really there or something.
Anyhow... got some nice pictures down by the river:
You can almost see what I'm talking about here but they are kind of far away:
I rode back towards the other disc golf course and took this picture of the duck pond:
I started playing on the short nine basket course and on the first throw I saw this bird between where the disc drive landed and the basket:
At first I thought maybe the bird was dead but it was sitting up and looking at me and blinking. I felt like I didn't want to disturb it so I just took a picture and went on to the next basket.
The bird looked very tired out like it had been flying in the wind all day.
As I played the next basket I noticed the bird stand up and take a couple steps and then sit back down again.
Each day I wake I am so thankful to be here.
