I did a lot of disc golfing today. After lunch I played eighteen baskets with my friend at a course in the woods that they had setup nine new baskets at. It was a bit confusing to figure out the new course layout but a lot of fun to play.
Here's a view of a tree growing out of an old stump on the course:
On one of the baskets you need to throw downhill through a heavily wooded area following the slope of a ravine. The sides are at a kind of steep angle and you need to throw the disc so it curves through some gaps.
The Tobu disc slightly clipped a tree and impacted at a rather high velocity as a result. I always like it when I can stick a disc in the ground like this:
There were lots of mushrooms growing in the woods. Here's a shaggy looking whitish one:
Later in the afternoon my son and I played our usual nine basket game and then after dinner we played it again. He ended up winning both games. The scores were close and I was at a plus three for both rounds.
I think I'm going to relax a bit more tomorrow that was a few games of disc golf today. (36 baskets in total.)
It sure is fun to be out in the woods. I enjoy the smell and feel of the area. This time of year it is nice to get out when you can, it rains a lot.
