I rode my ebike over twenty two miles today and explored an off road vehicle area. There were a lot of pretty technical trails and some dirt roads that were easier.
The ebike does really well in general on single track unless it gets too rough. Being able to just power through without having to pedal helps with some areas where pedaling can be an issue in throwing off your balance.
The fat tire Rad Rover ebike I was originally thinking of buying would have been much better on these types of roads. I don't usually ride this type of stuff though so I do think that I chose the right bike for me.
My bike bag was almost rolling off the bike rack when I was going over all these rough rocks and roots. I will need to find some better way of keeping it upright on the rack. My old bike bag has stiff sides and that bag did not have the problem and stayed in place. I would still be using it but the straps are too short.
Here's a view of one of the areas in the park. It looks like they must have been digging up some rock here at one time.
Lots of paths are going all over around this area. I talked to one person who said it gets pretty busy on the weekend here. I'm not sure I would like to be here with a lot of motorcycles going around the place at a fast pace.
Here's a view of some of the tall trees along the path:
There is a lot to explore here and many roads that lead off into different parts of the mountain. I would like to go back and explore some more to find some nice views.
The battery held out pretty well and I was trying to be conservative on the way out and when riding around the trails. I had it on full assist mode on the way back and I arrived home with it showing signs of being drained. (It was down to two bars out of five total) I was feeling kind of drained myself when I got back. Riding on rough single track is much more of a workout than smooth pavement.
The rest of the activity for the day was doing some dog walking and general cleaning.
