The oriental garden lizard is a lizard found in all over subcontinent. The oriental garden lizard has also adopted to live among humans maybe that is why it got the name of garden lizard. In urban areas they are mostly found in garden or road side trees. As they are cold blooded animals so they are not fast in running. If you find any garden lizard you are able to take picture very closely even with your mobile phone.
First time I saw this lizard on a road side tree during birding. They might be taking sunbath. I thought that they might run or hide so I took some picture from a distance. After some time I went closer to lizard but surprisingly it did not run and just stayed to its place. As they were taking sunbath so they were easily seen as they were at the top of tree. I went so close that my tele-photo lens could not focus it so I had to maintain some distance to photograph it.
These lizards are harmless so don't be afraid of them. I have seen some people trying to kill them or to capture them and eventually they die. As humans me must give space to these little animals which are trying to survive living among us.
