Bats are the only mammals that are capable of flight. There are about 925 species of bats. One of the most common specie is fruit bat. Fruit bats or flying foxes are found in tropical parts of Asia. They mostly eat fruit although some specie also feed on flower's nectar and pollen. These bats usually have dog like faces.
One day I planned a birding trip to Shahpur Dam near Fateh Jang city. During birding I heard a lot of noises like some birds were fighting. So tracking the noises I reached near Gum tree or safeda. I saw a colony of fruit bats hanging upside down on the top of tree. Maybe some children were bothering and throwing stones at them so that's why they were angry.
In my opinion bats only come out at night so I was very happy to see them. This was a perfect place for them. There were tall trees and water dam was also near. When these bats fly around to find some place to hang then one can realize how big they are.
These bats spend most of their life hanging upside down. They sleep hanging upside down, they wash and groom themselves by hanging from one foot and using the other as a comb.
In recent study about corona virus many claim that this virus has spread through bats. As in China they eat bats and I have seen some videos in which Chinese are eating alive bat.
