Today I remembered a special place that I got to know when I lived in Chile. It's called Reñaca House, and although the name sounds like a disco, or at least to me it seems that way, it's an inn with a small space outside where you can sit and hang out, and it even has that jacuzzi with hot water.

Hoy recordé un lugar especial que pude conocer cuando vivía en Chile. Se llama Reñaca House, y aunque el nombre parece que fuese una discoteca, o por lo menos para mí eso parece, es una posada con un espacio pequeño en el exterior donde puedes sentarte a pasar el rato, y tiene hasta ese jacuzzi con agua caliente.
Valparaiso is a region in Chile, and as a region, it has several communes that are like cities but very small. For example Viña de Mar and the one I am telling you about today called Reñaca. It is about 20 minutes from Viña del Mar, about 2 hours from Santiago. It is a very very small commune, but for the most part, it is beautiful. People go there a lot because it has a quite long coastal area, as well as Viña del Mar, and there is also less population. I particularly love it.
If I had to choose today where I would like to live in Chile, I would choose Reñaca.
Valparaiso es una Región en Chile, y como región, tiene varias comunas que son como ciudades pero muy pequeñas. Por ejemplo Viña de Mar y esta que les comento hoy llamada Reñaca. Queda como a 20 minutos de Viña del Mar, como a 2 horas de Santiago. Es una comuna muy muy pequeña, pero en su mayoría, es hermosa. La gente va mucho porque tiene un área costera bastante larga, así como Viña de Mar, y también hay menos población. Particularmente a mí, me encanta.
Si me pusieran a elegir hoy dónde quisiera vivir en Chile, escogería Reñaca.
Some friends decided to visit the Valparaiso Region, and I lived nearby, about 30 minutes away by car, so it was very close. They would stay at Reñaca House and I would visit them, the truth is that I ended up spending the night in their room paying extra so I wouldn't have to go back home so late and we would probably go out to a disco.
To book you must search for it on Airbnb under the name Reñaca House. I don't know how many rooms that place has, but I don't think there are many since the parking lot is quite small, in fact my car almost left it outside because two couldn't fit. Not a very positive point, but by that I mean that maybe they have two rooms or just one since it is a kind of cabin.
Unas amigas decidieron visitar la Región de Valparaiso, y yo vivía cerca, a unos 30 minutos en vehículo, por lo que era muy cerca. Ellas se quedarían en Reñaca House y yo las visitaría, lo cierto es que terminé pasando la noche en su habitación pagando un extra para no tener que regresar a casa tan tarde y probablemente saldríamos a una discoteca.
Para reservar debes buscarlo por Airbnb con el nombre de Reñaca House. No sé cuántas habitaciones tiene ese lugar, pero no creo que sean muchas ya que el estacionamiento es bastante pequeño, de hecho mi auto casi lo dejo afuera porque no entraban dos. Un punto no muy positivo, pero por eso me refiero que quizás tengan dos habitaciones o una sola ya que es una especie de cabaña.
That night we went out to a disco in Viña de Mar and hung out for a while, but then we decided to go back to the inn. We shared that night and the next day when we woke up, we realized that it had these great spaces outside.
We decided to go down and spend part of the morning there sharing and talking. The owners play very "chill" music and it is very special to stay there for a while because the furniture is comfortable.
Esa noche salimos a una discoteca en Viña de Mar y estuvimos un rato, pero luego decidimos regresar a la posada. Compartimos esa noche y al otro día al despertar, nos dimos cuenta que tenía esos espacios geniales afuera.
Decidimos bajar y pasar parte de la mañana ahí compartiendo y hablando. Los dueños ponen una música muy “chill” y es muy especial quedarse un rato ahí porque además, los muebles son cómodos.
When we left there, we went to eat at a place that I have always liked because they put good cuts of meat and that day they went home to Santiago and we all went back to our routines.
I quite liked this place, and if I had to stay there again, I would do it without hesitation.
Al salir de allí, nos fuimos a comer en un lugar que siempre me ha gustado porque ponen buenos cortes de carne y ese día se fueron a su casa a Santiago y todas volvimos a nuestras rutinas.
Me gustó bastante este lugar, y si tuviese que volver a quedarme ahí, lo haría sin dudarlo.
