Since about 8 years ago I moved to Chile, since then I have been living in a few cities, at first I lived in Santiago, then I moved to a city near Viña del Mar and then to a beautiful little town called Olmué. In that little town is where this story begins.
Hola a todos, espero se encuentren muy bien y que hayan pasado un gran fin de semana.
Desde hace unos 8 años me mudé a Chile, desde esa fecha estuve viviendo en algunas ciudades, al principio viví en Santiago, luego me mudé a una ciudad cercana a Viña del Mar y luego a un hermoso pueblito llamado Olmué. En ese pueblito es donde comienza esta historia.
When I arrived, I had no idea what I was going to do there, since the town is very small and it is difficult to get a job there. But as fate would have it, I got there, and I was able to find a job where I was working in my career, and where I had to learn a lot in order to advance and not get a little frustrated for not keeping up with all the new things I was doing.
Cuando llegué, no tenía idea de lo que iba a hacer ahí ya que el pueblito es muy pequeño y la verdad es difícil conseguir algún trabajo allí. Pero por cosas del destino, llegué ahí, y pude encontrar un trabajo donde ejercía mi carrera, y donde tuve que aprender mucho para poder avanzar y no quedarme un poco frustrada por no llevar el ritmo de todo eso nuevo que estaba haciendo.
When they called me to start, I was really happy, it was unexpected to tell the truth, and that is one of the opportunities that come to you and you did not think it would happen. The truth is that I arrived on a Monday in October 2018 at 8:30 am to the office, already the one who would be my boss at that time, would give me many activities to do very promptly, I panicked at first, but over time I met people who were helping me and guiding me with my assignments.
Cuando me llamaron para empezar, realmente me alegré mucho, fue inesperado a decir verdad, y eso son una de las oportunidades que te llegan y que no pensaste que pasaría. Lo cierto es que llegué un lunes de octubre de 2018 a las 8:30 am a la oficina, ya la que sería mi jefa en ese momento, me daría muchas actividades para hacer muy prontamente, tuve pánico al principio, pero con el tiempo fui conociendo personas que me fueron ayudando y guiando con mis asignaciones.
Among those people are those friends that I miss every day, without judging me for being a foreigner, they were willing to help me, when I had doubts, I just asked them and they explained to me. Of course, they never failed to make jokes about my accent, they say that we (Venezuelans), do not pronounce the Jota and if you pay attention as I have done over the years, it is true.
Entre esas personas están esas amigas a las que extraño cada día, sin juzgarme por ser extranjera, estuvieron dispuestas a ayudarme, cuando tenía dudas, solo les preguntaba y ellas me explicaban. Por supuesto, nunca faltaron las bromas de mi acento, dicen que nosotros (los venezolanos), no pronunciamos la Jota y si prestas atención como lo he hecho yo a lo largo de estos años, es cierto.
My friends are both architects, and they are really cool and smart. One of them is a fanatic about studying, she is always training herself in anything she can find, the other one loves to help others, she goes out of her way to make sure everyone gets her help no matter if she gets something in return.
Mis amigas son arquitectas ambas, y son realmente geniales e inteligentes. Una de ella es fanática de estudiar, siempre está capacitándose en cualquier cosa que encuentre, la otra ama ayudar a los demás, se desvive para que todas las personas reciban su ayuda sin importar si recibe algo a cambio.
Despite the work, we always had moments to laugh, to make fun of ourselves, to cry, to hug and to share unforgettable moments as the pictures show.
