I haven't had a ton of friends in my life but through most of it I have had a dog. Not the same dog all these years, but a couple different ones.
The thing that I noticed with them though is that they always loved me no matter what.
People came and went but my dogs were there forever.
They would give their life for me if it ever came down to it.
For those reasons they really are man's best friend.
