With five steps, the angle is 72° each. So I started the recording. The tilt sensor showed 0°. After a few seconds, I covered the lens and turned the camera until the tilt sensor showed 72°. I covered the lens again and set the sensor back to 0° with the "ZERO" button. Then I turned another 72°. I repeated the steps until I had taken 5 steps. The "ZERO" function saves me having to calculate. With 72° it is still quite easy, but with 7, 9 or 11 steps it becomes a bit more difficult.
Bei fünf Schritten beträgt der Winkel jeweils 72°. Ich startete also die Aufnahme. Der Neigungssensor zeigte 0°. Nach einigen Sekunden deckte ich das Objektiv ab und drehte die Kamera bis der Neigungssensor 72° anzeigte. Ich deckte das Objektiv wieder ab und stellt den Sensor mit der Taste "ZERO" wieder auf 0°. Dann drehte ich um weitere 72°. Ich wiederholte die Schritte bis ich 5 Schritte aufgenommen hatte. Die "ZERO" Funktion ersparrt so das Rechnen. Bei 72° ist das zwar noch recht einfach, aber bei 7, 9 oder 11 Schritten wird das dann etwas schwieriger.

I can also set the 120° for three steps without the tilt sensor. I set the rotation tool to 60° and then take two steps at a time until I uncover the lens again.
Die 120° für drei Schritte kann ich auch ohne den Neigungssensor einstellen. Ich stelle das Rotation Tool auf 60° und mache dann jeweils zwei Schritte bis ich das Objektiv wieder aufdecke.

For this picture I set the steps of 40° again with the tilt sensor, as already described above.
Für dieses Bild habe ich die Schritte von 40° wieder mit dem Neigungssensor eingestellt, so wie bereits oben beschrieben.
This is what the scene looks like without rotations. I took the picture near the Berlin government quarter. In the picture you can see the Kronprinzenbrücke over the Spree and the crossing Kapelle-Ufer / Reinhardtstraße.
So sieht die Szene ohne Rotationen aus. Das Bild habe ich in der Nähe das Berliner Regierungsviertels aufgenommen. Im Bild ist die Kronprinzenbrücke über die Spree sowie die Straßenkreuzung Kapelle-Ufer / Reinhardtstraße zu sehen.

I particularly like the fact that the display is automatically rotated. So the numbers are always legible without much contortion.
Besonders gefällt mir, dass das Display automatisch gedreht wird. Die Zahlen sind also immer ohne große Verrenkungen lesbar.
To attach the tilt sensor I printed a simple holder on the 3D printer. Magnets are built into the lower part of the sensor. For my application, however, this is not much use. The rotation tool is completely made of aluminium. Alternatively, you could also attach a sheet of metal or a thin magnet to the top of the rail and use it to attach the sensor to the tool.
Um den Neigungssensor zu befestigen habe ich einen einfachen Halter auf dem 3D Drucker gedruckt. Im unteren Teil des Sensors sind Magneten eingebaut. Für meinen Anwendungsfall nutzt das allerdings nicht viel. Das Rotation Tool ist komplett aus Aluminium. Man könnte alternativ auch ein Blech oder auch einen dünnen Magneten oben auf der Schiene anbringen und den Sensor damit am Tool befestigen.
