While visiting Edward Medard Park the other day I spotted some strange changes in elevation and decided to investigate. As I drew closer to the hills I could see several large oaks scattered across this 'hillside.'

This artificial hill was created from sand and soil that was dredged out of the reservoir that is part of the park. Over time this hill has slowly eroded exposing the massive root systems of these old oak trees.

The roots really gave this place a kind of weird and creepy vibe for some reason but they sure do look interesting with plenty of texture to play with.
