Alphabet Hunt: Six things that begin with B
We continue with the Alphabet Hunt from Bangla Hive, and this time the chosen letter is B. For this edition, I chose six words that reminded me of places, moments, and little stories that are part of my life.
- Bed
This photograph of a Bed was taken at Hotel Palco in Havana, Cuba. My boyfriend and I were there because a scientific event related to construction was taking place, and we both presented a paper about improving marketing in the construction company where we work.
The room was really beautiful, and I loved the decoration so much that I could not resist taking a photograph there. Sometimes, during a trip or a visit for work, we find little details that end up becoming special memories.
- Bay
The Bay of Matanzas is one of the most important symbols of my beloved city, which has developed along its shores. It is a place that is part of our identity and that also gives us beautiful landscapes.
Every sunrise and sunset reflected in its waters creates a landscape capable of captivating anyone who has the opportunity to admire it. For me, photographing the bay is also a way of keeping a little piece of Matanzas with me.
- Band-Aid
Band-Aids are one of those little things that always accompany us. I always carry some in my bag, and it is funny because precisely when you have almost forgotten that you have them, something happens and you need one.
Then, when I search through my bag, there they are. Waiting to help me with that little accident and allow me to keep going.
It may seem like something very simple, but I think there are many little things in our lives that work this way: they are there without us paying much attention to them until the moment comes when we really need them.
- Bridge
This Bridge is one of the centuries-old bridges in the city of Matanzas, Cuba. It is one of the first metal bridges built in the country and is part of the history of our city.
Unfortunately, it has suffered several failures and is currently in danger of collapsing. Despite this, it still stands majestically over the waters of the Yumurí River, as if waiting for its final days.
It is strange to photograph a place that still preserves so much beauty while knowing that its future is uncertain. That is why I wanted to keep this image.
- Bird
There are many Birds flying around without a particular direction, and sometimes I can barely manage to capture them with my camera before they disappear.
But there is always one that decides to stay a little longer, almost as if it were posing for me. These little encounters are part of the things I enjoy photographing because I never know when the next opportunity will appear.
- Bike
The story behind this Bike is quite funny. It belongs to the general project architect in my department, a brilliant but very simple man who goes to work on his bicycle every day.
And when it rains, he has a very particular solution: he takes the bicycle into the office so that it does not have to stay outside getting wet.
I think this image represents his personality quite well. A simple, practical, and dedicated person who has made his bicycle part of his daily routine.
These are my six words for the letter B: six photographs that, although they may seem very different from one another, hold little memories of places, people, and moments that are part of my life.
