Alphabet Hunt: Six things that begin with A

When I saw the proposal for the Bangla Hive Global Contest, I thought it was a really fun initiative because it invites us to look at the things around us in a different way. Sometimes we have many things close to us that are part of our everyday lives, and we do not stop to really notice them.
For this first edition, the chosen letter is A, so these are the six words I chose and the little stories behind them.

  1. Aloe

In the backyard of my house, I have an Aloe plant, which we usually call “sábila” in Cuba. For me, it is not just another plant, because Aloe is also the main ingredient I use in my skincare. I like having it nearby and being able to take advantage of the properties of a plant that has been present in many Cuban homes for generations.
  1. Art

This photograph was taken in an art gallery in the center of the city of Matanzas. It was during a day out with some of my coworkers, after a workday when we decided to give ourselves a little time to spend together.

I think we also need those moments outside of work, simply to talk, enjoy ourselves, and discover something different. And in this case, Art was part of that little outing we shared.

  2. Apple

This little Apple is actually an ornament that I had on my Christmas tree last year. I found it quite funny because it was not exactly the typical Christmas ornament one would expect to find on a tree.

It also had a special reason for being there: the apple is my favorite fruit. So, even though it was just a small detail among all the decorations, it ended up having a special place.

  3. Alligator

This little Alligator is an ornament that I have at home. Actually, there are two of them, one big and one small, as if they were a mother and her baby. In Cuba, it is quite common to find decorations related to crocodiles or alligators because we often say that our island has the shape of a sleeping alligator in the waters of the Caribbean. That is why this little ornament also reminds me of my country and of that curious comparison that we have heard so many times.

  1. Avocado

Avocado is, without a doubt, one of those foods that cannot be missing from my meals. For me, it is the perfect accompaniment for dinner and, besides liking it very much, it is a very nutritious food that provides healthy fats.

There are meals that simply feel incomplete when that accompaniment is missing, and this is one of them.

  2. Award

The last word on my list is Award. This photograph was taken at my workplace and shows some of the awards that the company where I work has received.

Behind each one of them are years of effort, dedication, and commitment to the quality of our work. For me, it is nice to see these recognitions not only as awards, but also as a representation of the effort of many people who have been part of the company's history.

And that is the end of my little collection of words beginning with the letter A. Six very different things, but each one somehow connected to my life, my memories, my work, or the things I enjoy.

Now I would like to invite edward777@edward777 to participate in this Alphabet Hunt and discover what their six words beginning with the letter A would be.

What about you? What six things would you choose if you had to make your own list with the letter A?
